Fresh ginger, pineapple, and lime are the ingredients of this Pineapple Ginger Shot recipe. Having these ginger shots on hand throughout the cold and flu season is a terrific way to incorporate them into your regular wellness routine.

You can use a blender or juicer to prepare this simple homemade ginger shot recipe at home.

Recipe for Ginger Shots

Ginger, pineapple, and lime are the only three ingredients in this easy-to-make ginger shot recipe. It’s one of my favorite beverages, and I usually make it around the cold and flu season, when I’m feeling a little under the weather.

  • Lime
  • Pineapple
  • Fresh ginger

How to Prepare Ginger Snaps

Depending on how many shots you prepare, preparing this recipe for ginger shots at home takes about ten minutes from start to finish. I usually juice one full pineapple at a time, combining two to four limes, approximately six 1-inch pieces of ginger, and then filling these little containers I got from Smart and Final with the shots. These ginger shots taste a little sweeter and are a little easier to drink thanks to the pineapple.

  1. Prep Ginger and Fruit. Peel and chop fresh ginger, pineapple and lime.
  2. Juice. Push the ginger, pineapple and lime through the tube feeder on a juicer.  If you don’t have a juicer, then blend all the ingredients in a high speed blender and strain though a fine mesh sieve and discard any remaining pieces of fruit and ginger.
  3. Serve. Pour about 1/3 cup for each shot

Why These Ginger Shots Are So Great

Ginger shots are a condensed beverage with a ton of nutritional benefits, in case you were wondering. Ginger belongs to the same family of plants as cardamom and turmeric. The components in ginger known as ketones and gingerols give it its spicy flavor. Its antioxidant content is second only to that of pomegranates and some berries. First of all Since ginger shots don’t usually make for the most enjoyable drinks, I like to add pineapple to mine to give them a slight sweetness and make them a little more palatable. Bromelain, magnesium, and vitamin C are all abundant in pineapples.
