Colleen and Ray Ferguson’s lifelong dream of becoming parents was finally fulfilled when they adopted 6-year-old Ben. Little did they know that their journey as parents would take an unexpected and heartwarming turn.
It all began with a simple meal. Colleen prepared Ben’s favorite comfort food, mac and cheese. After finishing his meal, Ben asked to be alone in his room. Concerned about connecting with their new son, Colleen decided to check on him later. What she discovered left her truly astonished.

Alana listened to Ben’s story and recognized the sincerity in his words. She agreed to help, allowing Colleen and Ray to be temporary foster parents to the baby girl. It was a secret they had to keep, as any word could jeopardize the safety of both children.
Days later, a phone call from Mrs. Campbell, who was in charge of foster care, caused great anxiety for Colleen. She nervously reassured Mrs. Campbell that Ben remained silent about their previous foster family. While on the call, Ben suddenly cried out that the baby was in distress. Colleen’s heart swelled with joy as Ben called her “mom,” but she also feared that Mrs. Campbell had overheard. Sharing the call details with Ray, they worried about potential trouble while still hiding the baby.
Their concerns heightened when Ray noticed a truck parked outside their home that could potentially belong to Mr. Franklin, one of Ben’s former foster parents. Alana was informed, and they knew they had to act swiftly to protect both children.
