Emma always prided herself on being economical, diligently ensuring she could cover rent and still maintain a modest lifestyle. Yet, an unexpected discovery while her husband was away revealed that the ‘rent’ she so faithfully contributed to was actually funding her mother-in-law’s lifestyle.
